  • Only select Solo Safety Steward if you are a current holder of an SCCA SSS License.
  • Only select any waiver position if you have an annual (or greater) SCCA membership.
  • Work assignment selections are requests. We will try to honor them but must balance personnel based on class groupings each heat.
  • Physical Limitation/Special Requests
    • Notify at least two days before the event via email to CFRSolo2@gmail.com with the event name and “Work - Special Request” in the subject line.
      • Examples of Special Requests, but are not limited to:
        • Ailments preventing cone replacement or standing for a full heat (~1.5 hours)
        • Needing to leave the event early for personal reason.
    • Permanent special needs (e.g., arthritis or other chronic physical impairments) only need to be reported once to the event organizers. Once established, you do not need to re-communicate them for future events.
    • Non-permanent Special Requests should be used only in rare or unavoidable situations, as each request adds complexity to scheduling run/work orders and assigning workers efficiently.

MINOR POLICY (under 18 years old)

  • Minor - Competitors and/or Passengers Only - must have a properly executed SCCA Minor Waiver.
    • SCCA has streamlined the Minor Waiver process by offering digital creation of the Minor Waiver.

Detail instructions can be found here:  Digital Annual Waiver Instructions.pdf (connectsites.net)

  • Minor passengers must be 12 years or older.
    • Passenger must fit properly in the vehicle's safety restraints and must wear a properly fitted helmet.
    • It is highly recommended that onboard passenger airbag(s) be disabled for passengers under 57 inches tall.
    • SCCA Minor Waiver is required.
    • Membership is required; a free Trial Membership is available for passengers.
    • Passenger has completed and signed the required participant waiver(s), including parents/guardians as appropriate (Section 4.13).

Junior Driver Policy

  • Unfortunately, the SCCA National Office has cancelled the Junior Driver program. No junior karts will be permitted to participate at this event.

PERMITTED VEHICLES

  • All vehicles must pass technical inspection which includes but is not limited to:
    • Tires are not damaged and do not show cord.
    • Wheels are secure with all lug nuts present and properly torqued.
    • Battery is secure.
    • Body panels are secure.
    • Brakes work with firm pedal.
    • No loose items are present in the car.
  • Vehicle must not be on the “Excluded from Street Category for reasons of Stability Per Section 3.1" list of the current SCCA® National Solo® Rules.
  • For cars not specifically excluded on the above list, or specifically included in Appendix A, to be eligible, the vehicle must comply with the Stability requirements of Section 3.1 of the current SCCA® National Solo® Rules.  Sports Car Club of America (scca.com)

CLASSES

  • For modification allowances respective to each category, see Sections 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 of current SCCA® National Solo® Rules, which define the classing categories, and the allowable modifications in each category.  Sports Car Club of America (scca.com)
    • Cars that are near stock will generally fall into Section 13 “Street Category”.
    • If you have modifications to your car, work down the sections from Section 13 to Section 19 to find the category that accommodates all of your car’s modifications.
  • To determine classing for a car within a category, see Appendix A of current SCCA® National Solo® Rules. A digital copy of the current Solo Rules can be downloaded here:  https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-cars-and-rules

Helmets

  • All drivers must wear a SNELL 2010/2015/2020/2025 (M/SA) approved helmet. Other European standards are also accepted.

See current SCCA® National Solo® Approved Helmet here

  • Loaner helmets are available, but may not be fully sanitized between uses. If this is a concern, please bring your own approved helmet or contact us in advance.

Sound Policy

  • Our sound policy aligns with SCCA Solo National events. The general limit is 100 dBa at 50 ft, measured where the vehicle is expected to be loudest. Refer to Appendix I of the current SCCA® National Solo® Rules for full details.
  • For our regional events, we typically do not have a dedicated sound position. If officials suspect a vehicle may exceed limits, its sound will be measured on the next run, and SCCA National rules will apply.
  • Note: Directional exhaust tips aimed laterally away from the sound measurement station DOES NOT constitute a viable remedy, although directional exhausts may be used to aim the exhaust straight up, straight down, or straight back.

Special Considerations and Allowances

  • Course “Check Runs”
    • Course designers or knowledgeable officials may make check runs to identify safety or visual issues.

    • Competitors doing check runs should, if possible, use a car different from their competition vehicle.

    • Check runs are necessary and allowed; no protests will be accepted for them.

  • Instructor Runs
    • Instructors may drive student cars before their own competition runs to provide guidance. These runs should match the student’s skill level and not be at maximum speed (“Ten-Tenths”).

    • “Ten-Tenths” runs to explore a car’s limits should only be done during fun runs after the instructor has completed all competitive runs.

    • Necessary instructor runs prior to competitive runs are allowed, and no protests will be accepted.

    • The purpose of these runs is instruction, not competitive advantage.

  • CFR SCCA Event Officials
    • Participants performing event work that disrupts their competition timeline may be allowed special accommodations, such as, but not limited to:

      • Walking the course during the Driver’s Meeting

      • Running in a different heat or spreading runs across multiple heats

    • This “heat flexibility” is only for completing event duties and must not be used for competitive advantage.
